    Very scarce works.

    A collection of four religious Victorian works.

    'Scriptural Hints for the Nursery and School-Room', the third edition of this work,  is a charming work intended to guide the reader on the best way to educate and rule children in terms of spirituality and religion, an issue that was considered to be very pressing in Victorian England.

    Also bound with 'The Dying Penitent', 'Remarkable Conversion of a Jew at Leipsic', and 'An Affectionate Address to Mothers'.

    Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper, 'Master J. Griffiths  from his affectionate friend A. Bobbins on his 13th birthday, March 28th 1871'.

    Condition

    Bound in paper covered boards, rebacked with a modern spine. Externally, with loss to the patterned paper. Rubbing to the boards. Light bumping to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with a couple of spots.
