One volume bound in two. Volume II of a total of two volumes, thus lacking Volume I.
'Chambers Book of Days' was a popular miscellany, an elaborate collection of short pieces, mostly factual.
Illustrated with in-text engravings throughout.
Compiled by Robert Chambers, a Scottish publisher and earl phrenologist.
Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpapers.
Condition
In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the boards and spines. Small crack to the tail of the front joint of Volume II Part I. Fading to the spines. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Front hinge of Volume II Part I is starting but firm. Rear hinge of Volume II Part II is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some spots.
