First Edition, Illustrated, Scarce

Being the issues for August and September 1803. The pagination is continuous. 

With a frontispiece to the August issue. 

'The Monthly Mirror' was published from 1795-1811 and was founded by Thomas Bellamy and later Thomas Hill and John Litchfield. It focused on theatre, in London and the provinces. In 1812 the Monthly Mirror was merged into the 'Theatrical Inquisitor'.

With biographical sketches of many noted individuals including Mr Pratt, Mr Braham, and the Earl of Orford.  Literature reviews include of the works of Lady Wortley Montagu, Malton's Picturesque Tour and Dr Shepard's 'Lives of the most eminent painters'. There are also dramatic reviews on Drury-Lane, Covent Garden, Haymarket, the New Royal Circus and many more locations. 

Two important issues of this theatrical periodical.

Condition

Both issues are disbound. Externally, generally smart with light spots to the front and rear leaves of these two volumes. Minor creasing to the page edges. Internally, both volumes are firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with just the odd light spots to pages.
