What Our Customers Say...
Description
Early Edition, Leather Binding
An early edition of this work.
With the bookplate of David Bellamy to the front pastedown. Bellamy was a naturalist and environmentalist. His bookplate is signed by him.
ESTC reference no: T92841
A very smart copy of this celebrated work by John Ray. Ray was an English naturalist, and regarded as one of the earliest parson-naturalists. He was also a keen lexicographer, and in addition to these two works he issued a 'Trilingual Dictionary'.
Comprising his 'A Compleat Collection of English Proverbs' fourth edition and 'A Collection of English Words not Generally Used' fourth edition. Both are typically found together like this, and contain separate title pages, pagination and registers.
An interesting examination of the English language.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Rebacked, with the original boards preserved. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the extremities. Bookplate to the front pastedown, David Bellamy. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
