This work was produced for the bibliographical society at the Oxford University Press. Collated, complete, with 86 pages of illustrations depicting title pages. These title page examples have been selected by Alfred Forbes Johnson. Johnson was an academic librarian, bibliographer and expert in typography. He held the role of Deputy Keeper of Printed Books at the British Museum. This is one of many bibliographical reference works produced by Johnson. From the 'Facsimiles and Illustrations' series. This is no 1. A bright copy of this informative work.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Cloth has faded slightly. Bumping and rubbing to the head and tail of spine with a small amount of loss to the cloth at the head and tail. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light spots to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with scattered spotting, heavier to the first and last few pages.
