Early Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

In the publisher's original cloth.

This fourth edition is extra illustrated compared to previous editions and contains 30 plates as well as 300 facsimile reproductions of engraver's marks. 

Illustrated with examples of the various engraver's works. 

This copy is very bright internally. 

Slater was an important figure in the field of bibliography and wrote many works on the subject. These include, but is not limited to 'How to Collect Books' and 'The Romance of Books'.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Small patch of damp staining to the front board at the edges and some light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Rear hinge is slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright. Just the odd spot.
