To which is Prefixed, A Concise System of Astronomical Geography by James Ferguson. Including the late Discoveries of Dr. Herschel, and other eminent Astronomers, in Illustrations of the Work. With statistical tables. Concluding with an alphabetical index to the geography and a chronology of the remarkable events from the earliest periods of history to the present time.

In two volumes complete.

Illustrated with engravings, with vignette half titles to volume one and foldout maps to both volumes; nine foldout maps to volume one and ten to volume two.

Previous owner's ink inscriptions to titles dated 1815 and  front blanks dated 1873.

CONDITION

In contemporary half calf bindings with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, generally sound but with some wears to extremities, rubbing and marks to boards, with three boards detached and one held by cords only. One spine labels absent. Internally, text blocks generally firmly bound but with some pages detached being attached to boards. Bright and generally clean but with slight scattered foxing, heaviest to plates and handling marks.
