Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Complete with original unclipped dustwrapper. This copy is undated, dated using Copac. Collated, complete with twelve tipped in coloured plates, 'The Primrose Fairy' plate bound as the frontispiece. Cicely Mary Barker was a renowned artist who worked proficiently in watercolour, pen and ink, oils, and pastels. She is best known for her illustrations depicting fairies and botanically accurate flowers, that have enchanted both adults and children alike around the world.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding with paper boards (featuring a coloured image tipped to the front board) and an unclipped original dustwrapper. Externally lovely, with only minor shelfwear to extremities and head and tail of spine.Small split to head of front hinge, still reasonably firm. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Dustwrapper generally smart, with bumping and slight chipping to extremities. Marking to wrap, with light scattered spots to verso (not visible to recto). Some loss of wrap to head of spine and small closed tears to lower extremity of rear. Internally firmly bound. Pages very slightly age toned to extremities, but bright and clean, with only the odd light spot to the occasional page.
