Original Binding

Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. With bibliographical notes to the rear as well as to the outer margin of each lyric. Contains a range of early songs found in Middleton, Copland, Dekker and Fletcher as well as songs found elsewhere, progressing to the most recent canting songs that Farmer could find.

Condition

In paper covered boards. Externally, very smart. Spine has age-toned. Small loss to head of spine and bumping to the head and tail. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are slightly age toned with scattered spots throughout, heavier to the first and last few pages. Many pages remain uncut to the foredge and top edge.
