First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

The first edition of this work. A very scarce work. This work was written with the intended of assisting the mariner in determining his latitude, especially if there is cloudy weather. Written by Edward Loggan. Loggan was a teacher of navigation and nautical astronomy, and also wrote 'The Mariner's Safeguard'. Illustrated with a frontispiece, and seven plates of diagrams.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Some marks to the boards. Light fading to the spine. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A little loss of cloth to the spine. Front hinge is starting after the textblock but remains firm, with a couple of tape repairs. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot.
