What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, With Dustwrapper

The first trade edition of this work. With original unclipped dustwrapper. At the time of Lawrence's death this work was left unpublished. It is a memoir of his time as an enlisted man and Lawrence wanted it to be published following his death due to the people mentioned in the work. The work was edited by Lawrence's brother who ensured that new names were used for people in passages that may have caused distress. This work is notable for its sharp observation and the insight it gives into Lawrence as a person. The Mint is set during a period when Lawrence disappeared from public view and entered the RAF under an assumed name, 352087 Aircraftman Ross.
