Illustrated with 36 colour plates of water colour drawings by William Gibb, with an introduction by F. M. Viscount Wolseley and descriptive notes by Richard R. Holmes. A collection of descriptions and images of thirty-six British military trophies, including the dirk, sword and cocked hat of Lord Nelson, the sword and hat worn by the Duke of Wellington at the battle of Waterloo and Napoleon's cloak, the work makes for a fascinating insight into naval and military history and regalia.
Condition
In full morocco binding with gilt detailing. Externally sound, there is wear to the boards, extremities, backstrip and joints, as well as markings to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean throughout, although there is some light foxing to endpages.
