An Important Work

'Miscellanea Genealogica et Heraldica' was a quarterly periodical founded and edited by the renowned English genealogist Joseph Jackson Howard. Beginning in 1866, the periodical contained a fascinating record of family trees, monument inscriptions, births, marriages, wills, coats of arms, and notable people and places. This fourth series set is lacking the final two volumes; with Volume I, II, and III only. With publisher's advertisements to the rear of volume III. Featuring an institutional bookplate of 'The Library of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society' to front pastedown of each volume, each with an institutional ink stamp. With numerous in-test illustrations throughout, and collated complete with: Nine plates to volume I Fifteen plates to volume II, one of which is coloured and two of which are folding. Seven plates to volume III, one of which is folding, and one of which is coloured and folding.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt and black stamped borders to boards and spine. Externally excellent with slight bumping to extremities and head and tail of spines. The odd handling mark to rear boards. Institutional bookplate to front pastedowns, each with an institutional ink stamp. Internally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned but very bright and clean throughout.
