1953 Love Among the Ruins
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
First edition, in the publisher's original red cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper.
This intriguing work is one of Evelyn Waugh's post-war novels, in which he shows contempt for the concept of a 'welfare state'. In this satire set in a dystopian Britain, the protagonist works in a state-run euthanasia centre and falls in love.
With charming illustrations throughout, some of which are by the author.
