In the publisher's original unclipped dustwrapper. There were 375 copies of this work printed total. In the original French. With detailed vignette and full page illustrations by Louis-Joseph Soulas. Soulas is an internationally renowned engraver, and many critics consider him to be one of the best burinists of his generation. This novel, 'Dominique' was first published in the 'Revue des deux Mondes' in 1862. It is remembered for the delicate and imaginative observations Fromentin makes. A smart copy of this work.
Condition
In the publisher's original wraps. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the joints. Small loss to the head and tial of spine. Scattered spotting to the front and rear wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the odd spot.
