The first UK edition of this work. Held in the original publisher's unclipped dustwrapper. 'Song of Solomon' is a novel following the life of Macon Dead III, 'Milkman', an African-American man who lives in Michigan. This work was very popular, winning the National Book Critics Circle Award, was one of the reasons that Toni Morrison won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993, and was also chosen for Oprah Winfrey's book club. Written by Toni Morrison, a prolific American novelist who is well known for her works writing about the lives of black women in America. Her other novels include 'The Bluest Eye', 'Song of Solomon', and 'Paradise'.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, held in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Light edgewear to the dustwrapper, with some fading to the spine and to the head of the front wrap. Light tidemark to the reverse of the spine of the dustwrapper. Small mark to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
