First Edition, Illustrated, Limited Edition, With Slipcase
First edition thus, the first edition of this copy from the 'limited editions club'. Of 1500 copies produced of this work, this is number 433. Illustrated, with a frontispiece and five plates. Collated, complete. In a quarter vellum binding, with paper covered boards. In the original slipcase. 'Comus' was first presented on Michaelmas in 1634 before John Egerton. It was first printed anonymously in 1637 as a quarto issued by bookseller Humphrey Robinson. A very bright, beautifully presented copy of this important work, with the music to the rear of the work.
Condition
In the original quarter vellum binding, with the original slipcase. Externally, excellent with minor shelf-wear. The slipcase is very smart with minor rubbing and a small loss to the cloth at the head and tail of the opening. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Slipcase is Very Good Indeed.
