Disbound, as issued. Collated, lacking the main title page. Only the half-title is present. Publication details and date have been taken from the ESTC collations. This copy matches ESTC T63747. Looking at the ESTC records, this is the first printing of this work. Henry Fielding adapted Moliere's 'Le Medecin Malgre Lui' for this performance at the Theatre Royal. With the Dramatis Personae, listing the likes of Mr Shepherd, Mr Vibber, Miss Rastor and Mrs Mears as actors in this particular performance. This adaptation was the replacement for the 'Covent Garden Tragedy' as a companion play to 'The Old Debaucees'. It was first performed on 23 June 1732. It ran for a total of twenty-four nights and was a great success. A very scarce, first printing of this play.

Condition

Disbound, as issued. Externally, smart, with just a few light spots to the front and rear leaves. Contemporary ink spills to the verso of final leaf. Binding is fragile, and some leaves are loosening. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
