'The Pilgrim's Progress' is a Christian allegory which has become one of the most significant works in the English literature, being translated into over two-hundred languages, and never being out of print since its initial publication in 1678. It is second only to the Bible in popularity in Christian literature works.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, vignette title page, sixteen plates, and many in-text engravings and initial letters.

Collated, complete.

John Bunyan was a Puritan preacher, as is best known for his work 'The Pilgrim's Progress'. He was jailed after the restoration of the monarchy as he refused to give up preaching him nonconformist ideas. He spent twelve years in jail during this stint, during which he begun work on 'Progress'.

Condition

In a full morocco signed binding by Ramage. Externally, generally smart. Crack to the head of the front joint. A little discolouration to the spine. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with an occasional light handling mark.
