In this novel Dalgliesh is brought in to investigate the mysterious death of a famous writer on a remote island. 'The Private Patient', published in 2008. This is the last Dalgliesh novel, set in the deepest Dorset in Cheverell Manor, which has recently been renovated into a plastic surgery clinic. Written by P. D. James, the noted English crime author, best known for her character Adam Dalgliesh, a police commander and poet.
