Ray Bradbury published some 500 short stories, novels, plays and poems. His first piece of literature was published in 'Weird Tales' when he was twenty years old. Set in 1949, Venice, California, the amusement pier is being torn down. Bradbury himself lived in Venice for eight years. A body is found in one of the lion cages that is submerged in the canal. Another body is also found of an ancient woman in a room full of empty birdcages. A fantastic mystery novel.
