Fine Binding, Illustrated, With Slipcase

Signed by Hans Christian Andersen, inscribed to the son of his best friend Moritz Melchior. Moritz was a Jewish banker and businessman. This poetry collection is dedicated to Emil Melchior on the title page. 

Held in a custom chemise and slipcase.

In the original paper wraps. 

Illustrated, with several in-text illustrations by the Danish painter, illustrator, graphic artist and etcher.

Condition

In the original paper wraps. Held in a chemise and slipcase. Front wrap is detached but present, due to the delicate nature of this work. A few light marks to the wraps. Internally, binding is loosening in places. Pages are generally bright and clean. Slipcase and chemise are in a fine condition.
