Complete in two volumes.

A fascinating biography on the life of John Leech, the noted Victorian caricaturist. 

Leech is best known for his work for 'Punch', and for illustrating the Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'.

Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece, two plates, and many in-text illustrations. Collated, complete.

Volume II illustrated with a frontispiece, one plate, and many in-text illustrations. Collated, complete.

Written by the fellow painter William Powell Frith.

Forty-eight pages of publisher's adverts to the rear of Volume II.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Some minor marks to the boards and spines. Front hinge of Volume II is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with a few handling marks.
