First Edition, Leather Binding

A first edition thus, this is the first edition published for the Welsh National Eisteddvod and Art Treasures Exhibition in 1876. 

With a portrait frontispiece of Wilkinson. 

Introduction has been bound to the rear. 

An ex-library copy with a small institutional stamp to the front endpaper and title page. 

Complete, with the publisher's adverts to the rear. 

This work looks at the history of the English Iron Trade through the life of the pioneer of cast iron goods during the Industrial Revolution. Wilkinson was noted for his cannon boring methods and his iron casting techniques. 

In a lovely half calf binding.

Condition

In a half calf binding, with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Institutional stamp to the front endpaper, as well as to the recto and verso of title page. Frontispiece has been repaired and laid down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with just the odd spots.
