    A charming work, containing brief biographies on eminent natives of inhabitants of the county Sussex, England.

    Discussing John Selden, John Fuller, Percy Shelley, and more.

    Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, vignette title page, twelve plates, and many in-text illustrations.

    Bookplate to the front pastedown.

    Condition

    In a half morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing to the boards and spine, resulting in some loss of leather and paper. Light fading to the head of the front board. A few minor spots. Hinges are strained but remain firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Three plates have been rebacked onto an additional leaf.
