What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Pleasing Copy, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

Comprising of 'The Humbling' which tells the story of an ageing stage actor who inexplicably loses his gift of acting. The protagonist is Simon Axler, whose confidence has drained away. This is Roth's 30th novel. The second novel to this set 'Nemesis' is the 31st book by Roth. It is set in the summer of 1944 and explores the polio epidemic and how it affected a close-knit Newark community. 'Nemesis' was shortlisted for the 2011 Wellcome Trust Book Prize. The First U.K Edition of both novels. Roth is an award winning author, who regularly sets his fiction in his birthplace of Newark, New Jersey. He frequently blurred the distinction between reality and fiction for his provocative explorations of American Identity.
