The first edition of this work. 'The Spoils of Poynton' is novel following the furniture and art objects found in Poynton, a family home rich with decoration, objects which have many people wishing to keep them. Written by Henry James, a nineteenth century American novelist. He is considered to be a key figure in the transition between literary realism and literary modernism. He is often considered to be one of the greatest novelist in the English language. With thirty-four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small mark to the spine. A little rubbing to the spine. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only the odd mark.
