1831 The Bravo A Venetian Story
What Our Customers Say...
First Edition, Leather Binding
Complete in three volumes. This novel is the first of Cooper's 'European Trilogy'. The work focuses on political and social themes, such as the class system and the elite. The language Cooper uses predominantly focuses on dark settings. The true first edition, published before the American edition. Mary Shelley reviewed this work in the 1832 'Westminster Review', stating that 'The Bravo displays all the energy, all the singleness of purpose, and a greater grandeur of design than is usually painted by its author'.
In half calf bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart with light rubbing to the spines, joints, and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with scattered spots to the first and last few pages. The odd spots to pages.
