First Edition, Leather Binding

Complete in three volumes. This novel is the first of Cooper's 'European Trilogy'. The work focuses on political and social themes, such as the class system and the elite. Mary Shelley reviewed this work in the 1832 'Westminster Review', stating that 'The Bravo displays all the energy, all the singleness of purpose, and a greater grandeur of design than is usually painted by its author'.
