Volume II contains 'Burleigh and His Times', 'War of the Succession in Spain', 'Horace Walpole', 'William Pitt', 'Sir James Mackintosh', 'Lord Bacon', and 'Gladstone on Church and State'.
Volume III contains 'Sir William Temple', 'Lord Clive', 'Von Ranke', 'Leigh Hunt', 'Lord Holland', and 'Warren Hastings'.
Macaulay was a prominent Victorian historian and Whig politician.
Condition
In a full Riviere tree calf binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light fading to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
