Illustrated, Leather Binding, Limited Edition, Signed Binding

A limited edition work, being one of one-thousand copies. A Mandalay Edition, who published a set of Kipling's works. In a signed binding by Delrue. 'Letters of Marque' is a collection of articles documenting Rudyard Kipling's life living in India in the late 1880s. The articles show and interesting time in Indian history, being semi-Independent at the time, ruling under hereditary Princes under the advice of the British. Illustrated with a frontispiece, and two plates. Rudyard Kipling is best known for his novel 'The Jungle Book', however he was a prolific writer of poems, novels, and short stories. Being born in India inspired much of his work, and he went on to become one of the most popular writers of his time.

Condition

In a quarter crushed morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Light handling marks and a couple of spots to the frontispiece. Institutional blind stamp to the title page, and page 99. Institutional stamp to the tail of page 1.
