An interesting treatise by H. G. Wells, looking into the vast development of film in the first decades of the twentieth century.
Wells wrote this work at a time when the phenomena of cinema was exploding, exploring what made film so popular, and where Wells thought cinema would go in the future.
The personal copy of English author and artist, Brian Aldiss, with a note loosely inserted signed by Wendy Aldiss, executor to the Aldiss estate. Known for his science-fiction novels, Aldiss was greatly influence by Wells, becoming vice presidents of the international group in Wells' honour.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Lacking the dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd handling mark. Ink inscription to the front endpaper. Light spots to fore edge. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages.
