A history of Arabs in North Africa in the eleventh to the fourteenth centuries, particularly Maghreb and Barbary.
Arabs took control over the Maghreb region in 700 AD, with the advent of Islam in Mediterranean Africa.
This is a detailed history, looking in depth at a curious part of North African history. An interesting look at the Berbers, an indigenous ethnic group of the Maghreb region.
Written by Georges Marcais, a French historian and orientalist, who taught at the University of Algiers, and was the director of the Museum of Antiquities and Muslin Art in Algeries.
Marcais' studies into North African history contributed much to the field, and was an important figure in the academic study.
