'History of the Jews' is a thorough and comprehensive history of the Judaic people. The work documents their history from the earliest period to modern days, which was the nineteenth century upon the publication of this work.

Written by Henry Hart Milman. Milman was a historian and ecclesiastic, who was the professor of poetry at Oxford as well as later being the Dean of St Paul's.

This work was the first by an English clergyman which treated Jews as an Oriental tribe, and recognised various aspects in their religion.
