Abridged edition. Frazer offered a modernist approach to discussing religion, treating it dispassionately as a cultural phenomenon rather than from a theological perspective. The influence of The Golden Bough on contemporary European literature and thought was substantial.

Condition

In a green cloth binding with original clipped dustwrapper. Externally, sound, though with some wear to the corners of the front board, and a few marks. Dustwrapper is sound, though with some loss, marks, and closed tears. Internally, firmly bound. Ink signature to front endpaper. Pages are bright, with just the occasional instance of foxing.
