Complete in four volumes.

The exciting memoirs of Adele d'Osmond, the Comtesse de Boigne, a noted French aristocrat of the nineteenth century.

These memoirs details d'Osmond's family escaping Paris during the French Revolution, and her life during the reign of Napoleon and the July Monarchy.

Illustrated with a frontispiece to Volumes I, II, and IV.

Volume I is the first edition, Volume II is the second edition, Volume III is the third edition, and Volume IV is the fourth edition.

Bookplate to the front pastedowns, 'Hugh Gurney.

Condition

In a half crushed morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, near fine, with just a couple of light patches of rubbing. A couple of light marks to the boards. Some spots to the fore edge. Front endpaper of Volume II is adhered to the front pastedown. Front hinge of Volume I is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean. Frontispiece of Volume IV is detached but present.
