Plutarch's 'Lives of the Noble Greeks and Roman's, commonly called Parallel Lives or Plutarch's Lives, is a series of biographies of famous men written in the late 1st century.
The surviving Parallel Lives contain twenty-three pairs of biographies, each pair consisting of one Greek and one Roman, and additional single lives.
It is a work of considerable importance, not only as a source of information about the individuals mentioned, but also about the times in which they lived.
Condition
In quarter calf bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, a trifle rubbed with some bumping. joints starting. Wear to head and tail of spine. Bookplate to front free-endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright with spotting throughout.
