    Description

    Illustrated, Original Binding

    Illustrated with upwards of two hundred and thirty engravings, drawn on the wood by Gavarni, H. Monnier, and Meissonier and engraved by Lavieille, Etc. With an introduction to front by Jules Janin and sections on people such as The Parisian Lady, The Grisette, The Speculator, The Artist's Friends and The Peer of France.

    Condition

    In a cloth binding. Externally, sound but with slight bumping and wear to extremities, marks and marginal fading to boards. Front hinge strained. Internally, generally firmly bound although slightly strained in places. Bright but with the odd spot and handling marks and foxing to plates.
