What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Leather Binding

Notable for its sympathetic treatment and sometimes considered the first such by a non Jewish individual. First thus, the first U.K edition of this work. Published five years after the US first edition of 1812. Both UK and US editions are scarce. Complete in one volume. The author, Hannah Adams, wrote several works on comparative religion and early U.S history. She was the first United States woman to work professionally as an author. The sponsorship of two Boston intellectuals, William Shaw and Joseph Stevens Buckminster aided her to prepare this work.
