Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding

The first edition of this monograph selection. These selections were taken from the Palaeontographical Society volume between 1861 and 1889. Comprising of three sections, with separate title pages. With six plates, one folding. It contains information on the Pliosaurus Gradis, Pliosaurus Brachydeirus, Pliosaurus trochanterius and Pliosaurus Porlandicus. Each section has its own title page which is dated according to which volumes it was taken from. Collated complete. A very smart, extremely scarce selection of monographs on these reptile fossils.

Condition

In a quarter morocco binding. Externally, in an excellent condition with little to no shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Minor chips to the edges of plates. Pages are very bright and clean.
