A collection of seven archaeological works.

Containing;

'On Roman Remains, Recently Discovered at Headington, Near Oxford', by Llewellynn Jewitt. Original published in the 'Journal of the British Archaeological Association'. Only twenty-five copies of this excerpt were published. Illustrated with two colour plates, two monochrome plates, and in-text illustrations.

'An Account of the Roman Road From Allchester to Dorchester, and Other Roman Remains in the Neighbourhood: Being the Substance of a Paper Read to the Ashmolean Society, Nov 9 1840', by Robert Hussey, published in 1841. Two letters bound in before this excerpt, and one letter loosely inserted. Two of the letters are from the author, Robert Hussey. Three folding plates bound after this excerpt. Three leaves of newspaper clippings bound after this work, titled 'Oxfordshire Antiquities', and 'The Antiquities of Oxford'.

'On the Site of the Ancient City of the Aurunci, and on the Volcanic Phenomena Which it Exhibits; With Some Remarks on Craters of Elevation, on the Distinctions Between Plutonic and Volcanic Rocks, and on the Theories of Volcanic Action Which are at Present Most in Repute', by Charles Daubeny, published in 1846. Illustrated with one plate.

'On the Early English Settlements in South Britain', by Edwin Guest. Extracted from the 'Proceedings of the Archaeological Institute' at Salisbury in 1849. Two letters from the author bound before this extract, both signed by Edwin Guest. The second letter is dated 1850.

'An Essay on the 'Belgic Ditches' and the Probably Date of Stonehenge: Being the Substance of a Communication Made to the Archaeological Institute at Their Meeting, at Oxford, 1850', by Edwin Guest'. Folding plate bound before this extract. Evidence of an author's inscription to the head of the title page, cropped, though 'from the author' is still visible, and it is evident that it is the same handwriting as the letters from the author that are bound in.

'Reliquiae Romanae; or, Specimens of the Arts of the Romans Found in England and Wales', by P. B. Duncan, published in 1836. Colour folding map bound before this excerpt.

'Vocabulaire Archeologique Francais-Anglais et Anglais-Francais par Adolphe Berty, Architecte.', by J. H. Parker, published in 1853.
