'The Zincali' is a work about the Romani people, especially in Spain, documenting George Borrow's encounters and anecdotes with them. The author highly respected the Romani people. In this work he also described their history of persecution in Europe.

George Borrow was a travel writer, travelling widely in Europe throughout his life. His other works include 'The Bible in Spain', 'Lavengro', The Romany Rye', and 'Wild Wales'.

Condition

In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the spine. Minor marks to the leather. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Lack spine label. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with a few light spots, and a light tidemark to the head of some pages.
