A two volume set of novels written by May Sinclair. 

'Far End' is the fourteenth thousandth, 'Arnold Waterlow' is the nineteenth thousandth, 'eighth edition' stated to the title. 

In the scarce original unclipped dust wrappers. 

'Arnold Waterlow: A Life' chronologically tells the story of the titular character. Critics called this a beautiful and memorable book and was similar to Sinclair's earlier novel 'The Life and Death of Harriet Frean' in its character lead approach.

'Far End' tells the story of a women who moves to her new home at 'Far End' and the events that happen there. 

May Sinclair, otherwise known as Mary Amelia St. Clair, was a British writer, poet and suffragist. She wrote many works, including short stories, novels and poems.

Adverts to the dust wrappers, with adverts to the verso of the half-title and title pages of 'Uncanny Stories' and to the verso of the title page of 'Far End'.

All the works are undated. Dated using publisher's advertisements or copies held institutionally.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally generally smart with light bumping to the head and tail of the spines. Discolouration and damp staining to the spine of 'Arnold'. 'Far End' has slight fading to the spine and extremities. Spotting to the end papers to 'Arnold'. Offsetting to the end papers of 'Far End'. Rear hinge starting to 'Arnold'. The wraps are sound with rubbing, heavier to 'Far End', where the rubbing has resulted in surface loss, chipping, creasing and closed tears to the extremities and loss to the head of the spine to 'Far End'. Tidemark to the verso to 'Arnold'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned, with occasional scattered spotting.
