First written in 1693, 'Some Thoughts Concerning Education' was the most important philosophical work on education in England for over a century. It was translated into almost all of the major European languages. It outlines a new theory of mind, and the education of gentlemen. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, Thomas Garatt, born 1739 and died 1818. His genealogical information has been written by him to the endpaper. With publisher's adverts to the rear of the work.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, sound. Front board is detached but present. Rubbing to the spine and boards. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Just the odd spot to pages.
