First Edition, Leather Binding

A first edition thus. 

Translated into English by J Maine. 

This particular copy contains Donne's 'Paradoxes', 'Problemes' and 'Miscellany Epigrams only. Does not contain his 'Essays in Divinity' or his Ignatius his 'Conclave'. 

Lacking A1-5, A7, A9, The entirety of the Essays in Divinity (B-K12, L3), Of 'Paradoxes' lacking B2-B10, then the work continues on to end complete. Does not contain the 'Ignatius his Conclave'. 

A small portion of the title page to this work has been pasted to the front endpaper.

Condition

In a later calf binding, which has been rebacked. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the extremities. Bookplate to front pastedown. The textblock is detached from the binding with several leaves loosely inserted. A6 is chipped and soiled, with a small amount of loss to text. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
