In original cloth binding with illustrated boards. Externally, generally smart. Handling marks to boards and spine. Bumped to extremities and head and tail of spine. Rubbed to head and tail of spine, resulting in small loss to cloth. Small loss to cloth to centre of spine. Joints tender but still reasonably firm. Small loss to cloth at head of front joint, showing chords. Hinges tender, showing chords to front joint. Rubbed to pastedowns. Front free-endpapers detached, not present. Brown pastedown offset to title page. Internally, generally firmly bound. Plate facing page 53 detached but present. Pages bright and clean with the odd light spot and occasional handling mark. Occasional light offsetting to pages. Pages slightly age toned to edges.
