Description

Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

First published in 1915, and also known by the title 'Allan and the Holy Flower', this copy retains the original scarce price clipped dust wrapper.

The plot involves Quatermain going on a trek into Africa to find a mysterious flower, where he encounters Arabian slave traders, warrior tribes, cannibals, and a giant gorilla.

Undated; dated circa 1932 via the list of titles to the dust wrapper rear wrap.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price clipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. Foxing to fore edge of text block. Seven tape repairs to dust wrapper reverse at wrap and back strip head and tail. Loss to head of front wrap, with further folds to wrap head. Closed tear to tail of rear wrap, with handling marks to rear wrap. Minor closed tear to back strip tail, with further closed tears to back strip head. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to title page, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
