Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Hans Andersen's popular children's fairy tales, edited by Edric Vredenburg. An undated copy, dated from a School Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Including popular tales such as 'The Little Mermaid' and 'The Ugly Duckling'. Illustrated in black and white in text and with six colour plates by Mabel Lucie Attwell, popular illustrator known for her nostalgic drawings of children based on her daughter Peggy. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over illustrated paper covered boards. Externally sound with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities of the boards, minor chipping to the extremities and rubbing to the boards. School Prize bookplate to the front pastedown, presented to Arthur Weaks in 1929 by Church Sunday School. Internally, firmly bound. Odd minor spotting to the odd leaf, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with black and white illustrations in text as well as six colour plates by Mabel Lucie Attwell. Collated, complete.
