This is a first edition in original publisher's cloth binding, with original very scarce, unclipped dust wrapper. This was dated from other copies held on JISC.
This work was written by British science teacher and writer on natural science, William Samuel Furneaux. Furneaux achieved considerable acclaim in the 1890s and early 20th Century from his popular books on insects and plants from the English countryside, such as this work.
With twelve attractive colour plates and many other vignettes. Collated, complete.
Condition
In original publisher's red cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with minor shelf wear only. Light bumping to the extremities and the occasional mark to boards. Dust wrapper is age toned with the occasional mark. Slight chipping to the wrap with the occasional closed tear, mainly to the top and to the spine. Internally firmly bound, with pages generally bright and clean.
