What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Initially written as part satire in support of Charles Darwin's The Origin of Species, this book quickly became an extremely popular and influential work of British children's literature, following the story of Tom, a young chimney sweep, who becomes a 'water-baby' and begins a moral education.

Originally serialised in 1862-3 for Macmillan's Magazine, the present copy is of a later edition, dated from Copac, beautifully depicted by Harry G. Theaker with some lovely colour plates.

Condition
