What Our Customers Say...

Description

Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

Second edition, first published in 1923. A very scarce work. Beginning at the ruins of a buried temple three miles south of the Pyramid of Dashur in the Sahara, this novel follows archaeologist Sir Anselm Broadbent on his path to an exciting discovery. A planetoid destroys civilisation, this is one of CC Turners very scarce near future disaster novels. See Written by Charles Cyril Turner, a British journalist and author who served in the First World War as a Major.

Condition

In the original burgundy cloth binding with gilt. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. A 1" split in the cloth to the front joint has been sympathetically repaired by an amateur binder with thread. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Light age toning to the endpapers.
